The only way -and this sometimes fails to stop thieves too- is to watermark your works in a way that renders them useless to thieves and reduce the size drastically. The downside is that the works are "obstructed", but at least it will deter people from stealing them and claiming credit. This place doesn't let you turn off downloads for fanfic and I think my last plagiarist stole CTN from here. The bitch. But you can turn off downloads for art and you can watermark stuff through dA.
